Wind – New Zealand’s energy.
The New Zealand Wind Energy Association is a membership-based industry association that works toward the development of wind as a reliable, sustainable, clean energy source. They look to facilitate growth through government advocacy, industry activities and networking, research and public debate.
Task
Wind energy is now regarded as the key renewables technology to support energy sector decarbonisation. The outlook is exciting with significant forecast growth to meet the Government’s net zero target. As a professional body the Association needed a more modern and coherent image in order to bring their game-face, whether engaging with local and central government as advocates for policy and regulation, or talking to the general public at industry expos and conferences.
We designed a fresh and unique identity, based on three stylised wind turbine blades. Embedded in the logo is a subtle representation of a map of New Zealand.
To anchor visual communications we created a set of ‘air current’ lines – loosely drawn to counter-balance the logo and to act as a graphic device across branded stakeholder products.
