A sheltering haven for whānau.
Te Āhuru Mōwai – Improving the quality of social housing provided for Ngāti Toa descendants, Māori and the wider Porirua Community.
Task
Working closely with the team at Te Āhuru Mōwai (the largest private 'housing' organisation in Aotearoa) we were tasked with developing a brand platform that reflected a Te Ao Māori approach and would lay the foundation and provide visual assets for ongoing visual communications.
Our engagement led to a culturally inspired visual identity, centred on support, protection, and whānau. This included designing the user experience for their website, document architecture and creating graphics for their office interiors and vehicles.
Alongside the web development team, we structured the user experience, site plan and navigation architecture with a focus on designing an interface that reflected Te Ahūru Mōwai’s brand, was engaging, highly usable and efficient.
Deployed on Silverstripe
We helped weave the Te Āhuru Mōwai brand across their newly developed office space, bringing together a close-knit passionate team in a modern, light-filled environment.
We designed the lobby wayfinding system, meeting room glass wall iconography (offering privacy for client interaction), and graphics for the communal spaces. We also designed bespoke signs – ‘value’ columns, ‘whānau’ wall and ‘interactive’ staff engagement panel.
