Pathways and Progress.

The Government’s vision for the future of New Zealand education reflects the aspirations of New Zealanders, for a more inclusive, equitable, and connected New Zealand education and learning system.

The Ministry needed a new visual identity, as a unifying platform to help them connect with their diverse audiences and positively shape the perception of the Ministry of Education as leaders in curriculum, with tamariki at the centre of everything they do.

To connect with our diverse audiences and positively shape the Ministry as leaders in curriculum, with tamariki at the centre of everything we do.

To create visual consistency, across communications and resources relating to specific learning areas within The New Zealand Curriculum (and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa where appropriate) we designed a flexible identity platform that would sit under the wider Ministry brand.

We developed a series of ‘brushed’ graphic shapes to act as photo frames or background elements, to be rotated and scaled to create dynamic compositions. We designated colours to specific learning areas and a set of unifying colours for communications and resources that cross multiple areas.
