Phasing out problem plastics.
Plastic waste is one of our generation’s greatest environmental challenges – regularly ending up in landfills or the ocean. To back up this global challenge Aotearoa New Zealand has taken the initiative to phase out these plastics.
Task
To support Aotearoa New Zealand’s move towards a low-waste, circular economy, we’re banning a range of hard-to-recycle plastics and single-use items. A public awareness initiative ‘plastic phaseout guidance’ was implemented to alert and inform people of the intended changes.
As part of the initial public awareness campaign, we were tasked with designing a series of communication materials for print and online use that highlighted the single-use products being banned and their friendlier alternatives.
Design elements were integrated with the use of icons and a prominent illustrative approach, with a rich and textured aesthetic – offering a look and feel that is relatable and engaging.
